I have an older P&J gooseneck that I haul my 1550 on. A couple of weeks ago, I hauled the tractor to a ride 60 miles away. Evidently I didn't get the plug in far enough to catch the latch and it came out and when I arrived, all I had was a wire dragging on the ground. I borrowed a pickup and drove into town and got a new plug in for the trailer, came back and wired it up correctly and came home. I'm not sure, I don't think the brakes were working then. This afternoon, I hooked up the trailer and plugged it in and I don't get a light on the brake controller. I had my wife watch the light while I checked the plug with a test light. When I touch the tester to the brake prong, it lights up, so I think the wiring is good to the rear of the truck, all trailer lights work as should. I took the trailer plug apart and get nothing with the test light when the brakes are applied. It has to be something on the trailer causing the problem, correct?? I followed the wires under the trailer and all seems good. I took the cover off of the junction box on the trailer and tried the test light and got nothing on any of the studs. The only difference is I greased the ball on the truck before I hooked up the trailer. I thought that the trailer wiring had a ground included so the grease shouldn't make any difference should it?? I'm lost!!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
