I have a 1486 which has dual speed IPTO i.e. both 1000 rpm and 540 rpm shafts and it also does not have the TA (which is a good thing of course). In looking through the service and parts manuals I have it leads me to wonder if I have an oddball 1486 as the manuals state 1486's were not made with dual speed IPTO's nor were they made w/o the TA's apparently. Presumably the dual-speed IPTO may have come from another tractor prior to my ownership but the TA was obviously never there from the factory as the console dash doesn't have the slot for the lever etc. Seems odd unless the manuals are not entirely accurate. 😉
Fixin to replace the front axle center section as the wear is extreme at the rear bolster pin and also trying to fix the 3pt hitch slop as it has the draft torsion tube and crank arms, not sure if I need to pull the IPTO (or not) to get the torsion tube out, looks like I do as there is a u-bolt around it in the center and from what I've read it's darn near impossible to get the torsion spring out of the torsion tube as I believe the slop is coming from the splines between the crank arms and the torsion tube most likely meaning they need to be replaced. Ideally, I'd rather have a cat-2 3pt hitch setup to be able to use cat-1 implements but doesn't seem possible unfortunately.
