White 2-105 with 354 Perkins. Big solenoid on top of the starter that pushes the bendix in and out. As soon as the engine fires and gets ahead of the starter, it kicks out. No problem when the weather is fairly warm or when the engine has been running, but when it's cold, it might take 6-12 tries to get it started.
It did it 2 years ago, I took it to the rebuilder, she rebuilt the whole thing and it worked until this spring, then it started doing it again. I figured the problem had to be the solenoid, so I ordered a new one last week. I put it on and there's no change.
What else could be causing it to kick out before the engine starts? Bendix is all I can figure, but if so, why? I don't want to just keep throwing money at it. I'd sooner just buy a new gear reduction starter than keep trying to fix it or spend a lot of money at the rebuilder.

I think the furthest has been the Two Cylinder 7 in the Amana Colonies last year. Lots of stuff, lots of people. I've also atten
