Some history might help. The questions may not make sense to you, but remember we can see it, so have to ask things to replace the missing visual.
In the past, were they working and quit, so you replaced the flasher? Or did you recently get the tractor and they weren't working, so you are trying to fix them? You say the wiring seems to be correct. Are you comparing it to the wiring diagram or just how it appears to you. Do you have the right John Deere Technical (service) Manual (for the wiring diagrams) and the Operator's manual for it? There are two different serial number ranges for the manuals. I know some models (and expect maybe the 2440 as well) could be re-wired so the warning lights were steady burning not flashing due to local regulations, another reason for the questions of, did they work in the past and do you have the manuals (so you can check for that modification).
