I have expensive Signia hearing aids in both ears. Ignorance and 12gauge/30-06/Farmalls W/O mufflers. I was told by the Audiologist that they were unlikely to eliminate tinnitus. They did reduce the distraction it causes, but isn't a cure because the ringing is in the head, not the ear. It was explained to me that the brain seeks human range frequencies from the Auditory nerve. If frequencies are missing from the input, the brain tries to compensate by amplifying the missing content. The result is tinnitus. I can understand speech far better, and hear activities in every day life far better with than without. Jim
