Sorry to hear that. I thought from reading your post you was questioning using your brakes that way. You actually did pretty well doing it that way. I have seen guys reach down and pull the pedal back when they are sticky before. Maybe have to make some kind of extension on them so you don't have to reach so far over. Also, you can shift your body weight from side to side to steer it if that is possible for you to do. I was leaning over almost on my tire the other night bring to keep mine straight.
