I live in orchard country in the south Okanagan valley of BC and orchard tractors are not common around here. I have a JD60 orchard that was first delivered to Calgary Alberta in 1955 and ended up here in a Summerland orchard. I do not have the optional sheet metal that gives it that protection for branches, so don't know if it came with it or not. I do have the John Deere two-cylinder tractor production record for the serial number that says the configuration as Orchard, Gasoline, Manual steering. I restored this in 2002

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
