I have a friend that has a place to stack and store scrap metal that can be used to make projects. I haul my good scrap to his place. When I need metal, I go shopping there, free.
Junk, rust, tin, water heaters, washer, dryers I'm happy to just get rid of it no matter what they are paying. It's would cost me to haul it the the landfill. I wait until have a dump trailer full of rust. Recycle place is 10 miles away. A year ago they were paying $120 a ton. I was happy, more than paid for my gas and cleaned up my junk pile I hide behind a privacy fence.
