YES if the wiring is correct and intact ?? if you dead ground the GennYs FLD post that essentially by passes the VRs regulation function and places the genny in high max charge, so if all the rest is okay ?? but no charge, the genny may well be badddddddddd. The Motor Test in my Troubleshooting Procedure is another way to test a genny and if it passes BOTH tests it should charge.

NOTE my friend JMOR asked a good question WHY ARE THERE TWO WIRES on the gennys ARM post ?? The gennys ARM wires to the GEN/ARM on the VR,,,,,,,,FLD on genny to FLD on VR,,,,,,,BAT on VR up to ammeter, and BOTH need good grounds. SURE ITS WIRED RIGHT???
