Be sure you drain the water out of the housing first. M's & H's will have water in the rear housings. I believe it gets in through the bolts that hold the housing cover &/or shift lever, or simply through condensation. It will be at the bottom of the housing if you leave it set for a couple of weeks. Remove the drain plug slightly to drain it. Remember oil floats on water.
