Cracked Casting on JD A

I have a Late Styled JD A that has a crack in the casting at the top center of the main case. It is located adjacent to where the block bolts up to the main crankcase, right below the rear gas tank/hood bracket connection. Can this cast be welded with any success by someone who knows what they are doing or am I S.O.L. The crack oozes a little oil now but if left without fixing I am afraid it will crack worse. Thanks for the help.
