My Lincoln 225 buzz box has been on 10 gauge wire from the switch box for 43 years. I have welded up heavy thick steel and stuff as thin as 11 gauge steel. Also welded up lots of cast iron, cast steel and spring steel with it. Just have to know what rods and settings to use. Burned many thousands of rods with that old buzz box that my Dad bought for me new for $140 in 1977. Richard in NW SC
