Quote: CVPost-ss55 (quoted from post at 20:49:29 11/10/21) $800 is a fair price for its condition. If you can easily get it running and driving it could be a great deal. If you get into it and it needs a lot of work you can still haul the parts to a salvage yard and not loose much. I would trust that, if the seller has owned the tractor a long time, he knows what he is exactly what he is selling and the cheap price represents what you will find.
Trying to fix it up is where it could turn into a real money pit, costing you something like another $7,200 to get a tractor that is only worth $4,000 when you get done. Shifters were a problem. Late ones with the 756 engine are worth more but are much more expensive to rebuild. TA parts are $1,000. Right now it is a pig-in-a-poke. Before you buy it, determine how time and how much more money are you willing to pour into it.
Have fun.
I just spoke with the owner he said it has been setting for 5 years. He said it ran good when parked. I think I'll buy it plan on going tomorrow to look closer at tractor. Thanks for all the comments.
