What do you mean ASSISTANCE needed going up or it hangs and dose not want to come back down . If it hits the third stage and stops under load and does no want to go up with out help then check hyd pressure on the pump as the third stage is the weak stage for lifting power . When i ran coal bucket i had my pump set for 2850 PSI BUT i hauled BIG loads on the avg of 45 ton a load and SOOOMMMMME TIMMMES a weeeeeee bit heaiver . Ag lime was a tough dumper and liked to stick , many buckets played the fall over and play dead dumping ag lime . Now ya did not say what size scope you have but i am guessing and 8 inch and personally i would have around 2000 Psi . Now if it hanging once up, then it is the packing ring is to tight. They need set just tight enough they don't leak but the tube will side freely . Next thing to look at is if the tube has a bulge or kink . If this is the case a new/ rebuilt scope needs to be installed.
