I recently picked up what I believe is a 1946 possible 47 John Deere B. The tag is missing. The shift tower will pull right out not sure what the part is that holds it in place but I think I can visualize it. It appears that it had 4 bolts holding it in place which look like they were broken off in place. This tractor will only run on gas I was told that the would help nail down the year. I am trying to find a diagram showing the part but so far what I can find on the net is so vast that it will require a lot more time than I can devote. HELP !!! It was stuck when I got it but with a little prayer and some penetrating oil we got it fired up. I drove it 12 miles home after I got lucky and got it into high gear. Its in great shape lived indoors for the most part. It needs a few repairs mostly just maintenance type stuff. But I am hopeful that somebody might be able to get me some direction.
