I haven't had to order any parts in a while, but we're having trouble getting materials for our roofing company. 3 week wait for shingles that are normally in stock. Any aluminum sheet product (trim coil, drip edge, flashing), and the underlayment board that goes under flat roofing is non existant. As soon as any suppliers get it in, its gone. Caulking is limited. Lots of siding and roofing colors have been temporarily discontinued for some reason. We have enough work signed up to get us through January right now. We went ahead and ordered material for every job on the books. Whatever material comes in is what we schedule. In years past, anything we need was in stock at suppliers or a few days away.
I don't know if it's the shipping delays, the fact that construction is busier than normal, or both. Every contractor I know is flat out swamped with work.
