I guess it depends on what you call small.
My Kubota B2650 is a 25 hp compact utility and is certainly small by the standards of real farmers, but it's my Big Hoss. Does everything around here. Tilling, bush-hogging, finish mowing, grading with a box blade, loader work, snow blowing and log splitting.
I have two smaller tractors, a Pasquali 986 which I use mostly for trailer tugging and occasionally ripping my garden with a home-build pan buster. I've also used it for pulling bushes and small stumps. It has a REALLY low first gear and true 4WD so it'll put quite a lot of power on the ground.
The other is a Franken-Tractor. John Deere 455 hydro running gear with a 14 hp Shibaura diesel replacing the blown Yanmar. Right now it's strictly a trailer tugger, but I noodling ideas to make use of the front PTO on it.
