I'd be embarrased to drive that lavender flatbed straight truck. The livestock hauler my Dad drove for the most ( he drove for FOUR different companies and two others wanted him to drive for them.) had a single axle tractor similar to the tandem rear axle tractor on the bottom, was a Chevy, not a GMC, but had a TOROFLOW diesel engine, V-8 I'm pretty sure and 5+2 transmission, had power steering too, kinda unusual for 1965. It had dual exhausts, BIG mufflers under the cab then straight pipes running up the back of the cab that attached to the cab with vibration absorbing mounts, supposedly. First time Dad drove it it gave him a splitting headache after half an hour, The whole cab was turned into one huge drum by those pipe mounts. Second time Dad drove it he brought tools from home and disconnected those mounts, Picked up a load of cattle, hauled them over 100 miles then home empty. He even listened to the radio because he could hear it. A short nose conventional cab truck beat the heck out of a tilt cab like an IH CO-190 or an Emeryville or TransStar. Climbing up into those cabs with slick muddy boots is NOT fun.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
