I've heard of this, never tried it though and don't think I will.
A quick Google search turns up several reasons not to do this.
One comment that I borrowed from another forum:
"Battery acid is sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and when combined with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) forms a strong chemical cleaner known commercially as Piranha Clean. It's used to clean laboratory glassware, and to remove sulfuric acid stains from hard surfaces. It's extremely dangerous to your skin and eyes and the fumes can seriously hurt your respiratory system. It might actually work pretty well at cleaning off sulfated lead cells. But I myself would much rather buy a new battery than work with such a potentially dangerous substance and have to deal with the disposing and rinsing of this stuff from the battery."
I doubt the above statement will carry any weight with the majority of readers here though.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
