Had a neighbor in the area I grew up that took the pursuit of coyotes to a similar level. Back in the 80s the word was that he all but ruined his less than a year old pickup. It seems he came upon an unknown to him farm pond. Word was he got stop with only the top of the windows of the cab still above water. Chunked the engine due to ingesting water. That was not the only truck that he had owned that suffered from the similar abuse. Always had a pack of greyhounds hanging around the farm for the same purpose.
