This is an old Clark Y 91 gas forklift 4 cylinder. can anyone identify this sound? I crank it over and get this strange almost grinding sound or high friction sound. I can't really describe it. The motor will try to start then this sound happens and the starter solenoid starts to heat up. I swapped out the solenoid, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, points and rebuilt the carb a while back before the owner tipped it over and then brought it to me to go through.
It may be the starter but I havent heard this before on a motor.
AND.. Does anyone know the size of the socket needed for the front crank bolt? Pulley bolt?
