That looks like an Arps single stage blower , about 6 1/2 ft wide. I had one. It worked well under ideal conditions, useless under less than ideal conditions. Ideal was - slow reverse speed and live pto tractor with chains unless you are on real flat ground, fairly dry snow and not too windy. Heavy snow with temperatures that go above freezing or heavy drifting in same temperature conditions (which we can get with coastal storms aka northeasters esp early or late season) the snow wont feed in good. If its good snowball fight or snow-man making snow , not good for the old Arps blower. I agree you will want a cab tractor if you use it a lot.Years back I have done what Bruce suggested , suit up with snowmobile suit and helmet to keep snow off if its windy. A good hooded coat helps too but restricts your vision some. You probably already know a lot of this from using the Case garden tractor and snowthrower.

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
