This is a photo of a photo so excuse the bad image, a printer scan somehow dead ends for me. My brother in law owned this Unimog for several years, it was originally a German army communications truck that somebody overseas converted into a camper along with a new paint job, it was a bright turquoise blue. That's a water tank on the back half of the roof. I have no idea what year it was but this photo was from the late 80's. My BIL's lawyer friend lived in Munich and shipped this beast by boat to Halifax and then drove it across Canada and it packed it up in central Alberta on his way to Alaska. He gave it to my BIL who worked on it an eventually sold it. Someone had at one time transplanted a 5 cylinder diesel from an Audi into it, parts weren't easy to find but my BIL did get it fixed and played with it for a few years. The original Mercedes engine might have been a 5 cylinder diesel too I think. Someone told me they have seen it since parked in the bush somewhere around the area but he forgot where he saw it.
