Drive till valve stem is up at the top. Push valve needle in untill nothing but air comes out (might be just a tab bit of calcium come out first). Then you can gauge it without getting any of it in your gauge. If filled with fluid right, fluid should be lower than valve stem when valve stem is up at the top. If not, the wheel has to much fluid in it. Of course, this referring to a tire a few pounds low. Not flat. Correct fluid fill, is a couple inches below top of inner rim.
