i can't believe i actually recognized the spot ... looked so familiar. it's the old tractor repair and dealer in fillmore ca. the google street view seems to indicate it as 449 ca hwy 126. i knew the front but wasn't sure about the quonset construction. funny how you miss the details of the familiar. driven by it thousands of times.
no longer ford and thinking about it now, i don't know if there's a tractor dealer in fillmore anymore. might be ... but most are in oxnard i'd say. ford built a couple of large truck / car dealerships in the area though.
it has a 3 bay old style 'gothic arch' carwash to the east ... and the corner lot to the west has sold equipment forever. many different owners. now 'sky motors'. seems it was specializing in trailers for a long time. i know i went into that ford shop for something decades ago but can't remember what. i live about 25 miles away toward the coast. a long time friend lives in fillmore who has campaigned a pulling tractor for years. he and i designed 'barn butler' but couldn't sell them ... super charger making vacuum for a system to remove horse manure.
i haven't posted since subscribing and it looks like i might be able to include photos at this point ... so will share my neat old ford backhoe sometime soon ... 4000 hoe and loader from 60s.
i'll try to link a street view ... seems to be blocked when i try to submit.
