Nobody measures tires that way. That's why those ads aggravate me to no end. Measurements are useless.
Tire chains are sold by tire size. You call up any of these tire chain dealers and ask for measurements, they will laugh at you.
That Laclede page is invaluable because you can look up the number of cross chains that are in a particular size tire chain, and the number of links per cross chain. I have it bookmarked on my phone, and I've used it dozens of times at auctions to figure out what size chains are.
