Vinegar has been the old tried and true radiator and block cleaner for a good many years. Its pretty hard to go wrong with it. It is not fast so give it plenty of time. It would be better if you could somehow flush the junk out of a bigger hole than the block drain. I am not familiar with the WD but maybe the water pump could be removed to allow for faster flushing. The radiator really should be removed for a good cleaning and that might give you better access to the water pump. Ya I know all this involves more wrench turning but this way you will have done a more thorough cleaning of the entire cooling system.
