It depends on how far apart you have it . If not split from transmission to engine you take the plate with tachometer transducer off and like said, just bar it over with screwdriver or bar in ring gear.
If split, stick a bolt or bar into one of the frame rail bolt holes and pry off of that. Doesn't sound like you have the engine out completely as that requires a little different method which there are many.
No barring tool was ever released or needed on those engines.
