My wife's aunt was a bus driver for years back in the 70s and 80s. She was always a no nonsense lady and raised three kids of her own including two boys. She had a boy in the bus that was a bit troublesome and one day, after she had had enough, she drove right by his stop, finished the route and stopped back at his house. Grabbed him by the hand walked him right up to his house and had a discussion with his mom. Never gave her any trouble again. The bus driver I had was a full time farmer as were many back in the 40s and 50s. I only remember one time he had to stop the bus, go back and physically put one of the big boys down in his seat. Like others have said, you could not get away with that today. Most of us worried about what would happen if the ol' man found out. Then there would be real trouble! LOL
