The rockshaft will hit the inside of the top cover before the piston can come out of it's bore unless something has broken or fallen apart. If a cotter key comes out it is possible for the piston rod to fall out.
You always adjust a hitch height with no load on hitch so you can be sure it is possible to lift the hitch manually at least one more inch so the rockshaft does not hit cover when hitch is fully raised.
I have seen pistons come out, cover broken from rockshaft banking against them like when backing up a semi mounted plow to clear trash out of it. Spanking new 1466 to be exact.
Also, tires catching on hitch and slamming it up and down when hitch is not being used.
