I locked my costs in last fall.....fertilizer about 200 per acre, seed about 150, herbicide about 35, drying ....depends, but I figure about 100. I do all my own work, but planting, application harvesting and trucking will run over 100 per acre. So, that works out to 500 per acre.Add in another 100 per acre for unseen or unexpected costs, and as a bit of a cushion. I can book corn now for 7.50 per bushel and my yieldaverage over the years is over 175 bushels per acre. So, even if the crop is a bit below average, there is still a few bucks in it. Now, if I was renting or paying for land, the margins would be a lot thinner, with rent in this area, will be 300 per acre. These are all Canadian dollars..p>Ben
