M. Groom, actually your first reply is more correct in my way of thinking. And secondly a true one wire alternator if wired CORRECTLY has no issue with ..run on.. or powering the ignition after the ignition is shut off. It is continually connected to a live battery circuit and has no interaction with the ignition circuit. That issue comes more into play when you are wiring in the excite circuit of a 3 wire unit. The true location of where a one wire alternator connects into the system relies more on whether or not the machine is equipped with an ammeter. In which case your second reply MAY be more correct. Sorry, not a Ford guy cannot answer if it has one or not. My guess is the OP is not going to post back and tell us what the real issue is because he may be to embarrassed to say. In my thinking providing such details is quite helpful on a site like this because it can help others from not needing ..to go the long way around.. to solve a simple problem.
