Plastic parts have made me money : ) if there is any good out of plastic parts you replace the hole part and never try to seal a old plastic part. I have never seen one of those bleed green. The first one of those that came in the shop I opened the truck looking for the engine. My wife had a 73 super beetle I would not work on it we dated for 7 years when we married my first move was to sell it : )
I think a 73 was the first year they used a alternator it was always a constant problem. Just before I sold it I opened the engine cover at night the spark plug wires were flashing like a Christmas tree so I did put plug wires on it. That must have had something to do with the alt the guy I sold it to never had issues with the alt.
