What I do is just buy good yellow pine boards. Then treat all sides liberally with Flood CWF, twice or until it no longer soaks in. Install and repeat the treatment couple of years. Any oil change drain oil is applied when available.
I also have a trailer with the boards installed under a welded flange. If changing the one, I just remove the metal piece as it is only tacked every few inches and a cutoff wheel a die grinder or 45 electric grinder makes short work of it. On one board I've been able to tuck one end under, block the board up at a crossmember and push it down on the end with the loader. You can calculate the height of the blocking using your math skills or just trial and error, like me. Once down low enough to go in place, knock the block off the crossmember with a long heavy bar.
