Here's a true one: My brother has a friend that has a wedding anniversary during duck season. I am also good friends with both the wife and the husband. One year on the day of the anniversary, the husband went to work and didn't wish her a happy anniversary in the morning. She just knew that he was saving everything for the big gift that he was going to give her that evening when he got off work. So she was very happy that day and couldn't wait. That evening when her husband didn't come home, the realization finally hit her and she went to the gun cabinet to see that his duck gun was gone. She got into her car, drove to the duck blind, hustled over to it and chewed some rear for a couple of minutes....all while my brother and another guy was also in the blind. She then stormed away, got into her car, threw gravel from the tires and raced down the road. There was an uncomfortable silence in the duck blind with nobody saying a word. After about a minute, the guy says that he has to go home. Just as well. With all that noise, I don't think any ducks would have showed up there anyway. My thought was this: Perhaps she could have taken the first initiative in the morning and told him happy anniversary.
