He's getting to the point in his career that he can pretty much afford to drive whatever he wants. In fact, you have to drive something that stands out at his work. Try driving a rusty 10 year old pickup and plan on parking 2 blocks away. I GAVE him my old F-250 Diesel, had over 300,000 miles on it at the time. It's the most reliable thing He's had. He gets loaner cars.I forgot his Explorer got a complete new replacement crate engine at 12,000 miles, He told the service manager he wanted an extension on the original warrantee, I don't think he got it. He's had the '93 Lightning for 10 years, the F-150 4wd for 2-3 years, then the RAM, then the Mustang, then the Exploder. F-O-R-D stands for Fix Or Repair Daily. At least with the '88 Mustang & Lightning you could always get parts and fix them. This current stuff your waiting on the factory. Our 2015 EDGE got almost $5000 of hail damage about 2016, one piece of shiny stainless trim we waited about THREE MONTHS to get a good part that fit the car. Think 4 different times had to take it in. Our FIRST 2015 Edge was a dealer buy-back, first 1400 2015 Edges had an improperly programmed robot that applied sealant on the driver's side firewall, carper under driver's feet got soaked, three trips back to the dealer didn't fix it. They Did start the Dealer Buy-Back operation. But the dealership mis-handled the paperwork for the loan and when I cancelled the insurance on a car I DIDN'T OWN the bank sent me a bill for $2000 for comprehensive coverage for a year. Took me 2-3 to just straightening that out. The dealer still gets out TWO 2015 Edges confused when I go in for an oil change.
Did I mention I REALLY like my '18 RAM 1500? They make a nice 4WD SUV too. WIFE has a problem driving something she's not used to. It's all in her head. The 2003 Mercury Mountaineer we traded for the 1st Edge had 215,000 miles in 12 years, they allowed us $1500 in trade. THE AC didn't work was the only fault. But think I'm done with Ford, and this dealer. The dealer across town I bought my F250 and Son's Lightning from is still going well, my salesman is now General Mgr. Somebody's doing something right!
