Heading east on a main road in Elk County Kansas..It leads towards Busby where theres a one room school..This is the east edge of Flint Hills cattle country.
Creek bottom wheat field in Wilson County Kansas...For as cold and wet as its been,its amazing that it looks this good.Some doesnt.. The recent heavy rain has severely damaged lots of the roads in this area.Some corn fields had damage...Most is up and is a good stand.

Low water bridge on the Fall River west of Fredonia,KS..It had been bank full a few days earlier and was still rolling yesterday..If my late MIL had been with me she would have been screaming thinking I would attempt crossing it.No Thanks..There will be another day..
This is an old picture from 2007 of a huge farming operation in SE Kansas...This is a township road that goes thru the middle.. There are now 24 huge grain bins on the west side and 11 smaller ones on the east side...There are 8 machine sheds with some being big and some being smaller..Theres enough machinery there to farm 20,000-30,000 acres or more. This is from 2007..A huge barn east of Farlington,KS..It needs a roof but the cost would be unreal. Main Street in the ghost town of Elgin,KS in 2012..It was eerily quite that day...I may be in it this week? Elgin,KS A Town Too Tough To Die...I need to do a story on it as it has quite a history...I have lots of pictures. Big Brutus at West Mineral,KS...The worlds largest electric shovel..Weighs 11 million lbs and has a 90 yard bucket.Its 160 ft tall and cost 6.5 million in 1962.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
