Modern nolead gas is of much higher quality than the fuels old tractor motors were originally designed for. And the old motors have such low compression there's no need for higher octane premium gas. Won't hurt to use hi-test, but it's a waste of $. Only exception is if your gonna do extended max RPM/max load work such that the manifold glows red, then a lead additive may help extend exhaust valve life. Otherwise just use the cheapest gas you can find.
