Click on Equipment Publications. On that page enter 2640 in the box beside the Model search box and search. You will see there are two serial number ranges for the 2640 manuals, so you need your serial number to get the right one for your tractor. The Technical Manuals are purchase items. The Operator's Manuals are free to download. The parts catalogs (purchase) are there as well or you can use the on line ones found at https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/ .
Your tractor has a crank driven hydraulic pump. doesn't it? That drive covers the "crank bolt" just as it would with any engine having a bolt or nut holding the dampener pulley on a crank.
The engine should turn counter clockwise when viewed from the operator's seat. Bump the starter and watch the fan to confirm.
