Dad had one. he got it for trimming around the white vinyl fencing. He tried it but didn't like the way it marked the white fence. He was going to make something to solve that problem but never got a round to it.
i thought it would be handy at the farmstead so i tried it one day at the folks. seemed to work ok but not great and seemed hard to keep the tractor in line and close enough to the posts to work. i'm sure practice would help but wasn't too impressed and figured i could weed wack most of it by hand by the time i fooled with mounting it and driving slow and going back to hit what i missed ect ect. It would probably be a bit on the small side for the IH 444 as well.
in a case with heavier growth around the fence posts like my FIL's place maybe it would be a better idea.
