My dad always bought Maytag and bragged on how long they lasted. The dealer had parts in stock and dad would repair them himself when ever a problem occurred which was not often.
One day dad decided to replace his 25 year old Maytag dish washer. The salesman told dad right up front he would never own another one that would last 25 years. Dad has now had two Maytag dish washers. Current one has one or two features that won't work.
The salesman told dad they don't intend for a washer to last more than five years. They stop making parts after three years.
