My neighbor has a 50 hp massey with a 5 ft tiller. The tractor doesn't go slow enough for the tiller to do a good job. The tiller tines rotate in the same direction the tractor wheels rotate. .
So I shopped around and found a 1997 JD GT275 with a 30 inch tiller, 48 inch mower for $1500. Better than buying a tiller. My Jubilee goes too fast for a tiller. The JD garden tractor is hydrostatic. Only 17 hp kawasaki. The tines rotate in the opposite direction the wheels rotate. Go slow and it does a fantastic job compared to what my neighbor's tiller did on his 50 hp massey.. The tiller digs itself into max depth, about 5 inches. It turns the soil into powder.
My friend had an old Wheel Horse Garden tractor with a tiller. It too did a fantastic job.
Might think about finding an old Garden Tractor with a tiller. I'm glad I did.
I bought another John Deere lawn mower real cheap. It needed a new mower deck. The tiller now stays on the Garden tractor full time and I have a JD lawn mower that uses the old mower deck..

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
