I agree this is probably not the best place to get help as most of the knowledge here is on antique tractors. No spark from your magneto? We can help. Diagnosing a computer controlled powershift transmission on a 430HP articulated tractor? Not so much.
Something like this I would hope you'd have a contact at the dealer service department to bounce ideas off of, but we can at least try to help.
First off WHAT gets hot? Engine? Transmission? You say "it gets hot" but don't say what "it" is.
Second off, how are you determining that the front isn't turning as fast as the rear (lagging)? Have you actually counted revolutions of the drive shaft vs. revolutions of the hub on both axles to confirm?
If it is as you say and the front is lagging, you need to go back and see what was done BEFORE you were handed this tractor to work on. What work was done on the transfer case and/or one of the axles?
I would imagine that the front and rear axles are hard-geared together. Something like this doesn't just magically change out of the blue.

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
