The IH tractors after the 06 series started falling behind fast with a lack of closed center hydraulics for other than pulling tillage equipment was needed like for the pickle harvesters and in other specialty crops like vegetables and sugar beets they needed the closed center for running hydraulic motors and more pressure with more GPM in the pump. Those puny 12 GPM pumps just didn't get it by the late 70's early mid 80's for sure. As more devices were going to the higher pressures and more GPM required to run them and more things on a machines needing hydraulics they needed to have gone to more like the 20-30 GPM or more. Now if you don't have about 3500 PSI and 30 GPM you can't work half the equipment in the field now.
