My neighbor was given this GL500 when the original owner gave up on a uninspired attempt to make a Cafe Racer out of it. He also ran out of effort in about 3 days. It had the frame cut behind the drivers seat, and all lights and faring stripped off and gone. It had not run in more than 3 years. He asked if I wanted it. for free. I said yes and had it home in 10 minutes. I Charged the (apparently new) battery and drained app gasoline and refilled. Drained and refilled the carbs, to give it a chance. I pulled the choke, and hit the starter button and it was running! Oil pressure and generator operated. So I purchased new headlight (LED) and front running turn signal system. I made frame extensions out of chrome moly and grafted them to the existing frame with solid internal couplers I made from 41 series steel. Original rear GL500 tail light and LED turn signals were installed. An original passenger seat was adapted to the new frame members and is latched to be removable. The rear grab bar is 1/4inch 6051-T6 diamond plate. I have some details to go but it all works!! (the upside down boat is a 1938 single hull design Thompson Sail boat) Jim
