On at least some of the couplers the nuts (# eight) are used as jam nuts. The capscrews (# 7) are threaded into the coupling half clamps (# 6). Remove the nuts before trying to turn the capscrews. You may want to loosen the capscrews on the pump end of the drive shaft (# 2) and slip it towards the pump to gain a bit more room. Be careful not to lose the key out of the pump shaft, if you do loosen that end.
