I just purchase an old Case project tractor. the previous owner passed away sudenly and left no info about the tractor. The Serial Number is : 5526693 SC. Apparently that means it is a SC Model, but the local dealer tells me its got to be a DC. Can't find any specs or info on a Model SC. Did it really exist?
My intent is to do the minimum to get it running, then resale or salvage it, unless someone suggests a better idea.
2 basic questions at this time: 1) cannot find a dipstick or other means to check engine oil level, or to add oil if needed. Am I blind or looking in the wrong places? 2) There is a short control lever (~8" long to the right of the gear shift lever just aft of the instrument panel. It has 3 positions but don't know it's function.
Any help will be greatly apptreciated. Thanks, booger1945

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
