Haw , my old 61 Ford Sunliner with the 3.25 rear bolted in that 9 inch with the little old hand built 390 Tri power would dine on a XKE off the line and on top end as it loved to chew on my one friends 63 1/2 Gali.500 with the 427 dual quads . even my 68 Road runner would handle them . Not much from across the pond back in the fun days could match good old U S A V 8 performance . Loved the old 61 as she was such a sleeper vary quiet exhaust , learned all about loud exhaust with my 56 not many noticed the 61 sat a little higher due to the suspension under it , no body saw the traction bars or sway bars . But what they did notice when coming off the line was the ft. tires were in the air.
