There are 2 mounts at the rear of the 1085 cab where it sits on the axle. The distance between them is the exact same as the distance between the fender mounts on my 165. I figured the biggest problem would be getting it to work with the massey industrial loader on my 165.
You guys figure that is in no way sensible?
Thanks,
Pete
Like everything else, it is possible to adapt it, the question is more the work involved. The 1085 cab is a very big cab compared to many others.
Year A Round, Hinikers, or Ansel were made to fit the flat decks and foot plates tractors. So it can be made to work.
You have to install the cab as low as possible. You need to measure the windshield to foot plates to top of hood distance You need also to measure the offset between low of windshield to top of fender. Then you will see where your cab should be on the tractor, and if the doors are long enough to go down to the footplates while fenders are above the tires and bottom of windshield is below the hood. And you will have to see if front of the cab does not interfere with the loader.
The Year A round or others simply had some sheet metal installed under the cab to go down to the foot plates. That means a very difficult entry. Other way is to lengthen the cab door.
2630 (foot plates) with hiniker
4020 (flat deck) similar cab
Just be aware from the beginning that you will have a funny "cab on wheels" at the end.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
