Hello
I have a 1953 Jubilee and need some help with the Acorn nut and valve that goes to the lift cylinder . Can anyone post some pictures of how the cylinder should look where the tube fits on.
I removed the acorn nut and backed out the threaded portion about 4 turns, to avoid damage. When I got the lid off I did not find any flat O ring and it looked like the small flare on the casting side was damaged from Previous owner removing the lid.
I also noticed there was not a clamp to hold the tube in place and did not see a stub sticking inside to even install it on? When I backed out the treaded portion with a screw driver I also noticed that the valve was very close to the slot in the thread portion and my screw driver barely fit into the slots, is this Normal

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
